These photos were taken at the California Ohlone Indian Big Time Gathering on June 18, 2011 at Yerba Buena Gardens, San Francisco. The people, dances, and smell of sage created a beautiful and timeless atmosphere, where any spectator felt privileged to be a witness.
Participating tribes included Elem Indian Colony Tribe, Pit River Maidu Tribe, Winnemum Wintu Tribe, Shingle Springs Miwok Tribe, Stewarts Point Kashaya Band of Pomo and Manchester Pomo Tribe.

“Always keep your mind as bright and clear as the vast sky, the great ocean, and the highest peak, empty of all thoughts. Always keep your body filled with light and heat…You are here to realize your inner divinity and manifest your innate enlightenment.”

This piece is a combination of strength and femininity/beauty. The flowers sprout out of the skull as if was a vase, while the electronic elements are inspired by the steampunk style.
Steampunk Floral Skull can be found in the inspiring Tomate de Arbol, Issue 7 arts publication from Argentina. I’m on Page 36 🙂
