“Forgotten Innocence” is a mixed media illustration of delicate skeletal cherubs holding on to the beauty and dangerousness of nature. This was inspired by macabre Victorian creations, mythology and the stunning Renaissance paintings of Italian masters.

Inspired by dark fantasy and watching too many episodes of American Horror Story and NBC’s Hannibal, “Excelsius Trio” crawled into my mind. Its ethereal quality captures the mysterious beauty and potential darkness of the supernatural. This Illustration was created with pen, graphite and digital coloring.

This illustration is part of my (growing) series of skeletal musicians, made with pen/ink, digital coloring and a touch of photo textures. It explores the dark romanticism present in the melancholy sound of the cello.
