This Wolf illustration is inspired by the magick and folklore of Wiccans and Native Americans, where wolves represent strength and courage. I went back to basics with this almost-monotone illustration, but included highlight colors for the eyes (silver blue for the “spirit wolf”) and the crescent moon. I also incorporated my detailed patterning in the background, inspired by the intricate designs of old Chinese paper-cutting creations and zentangle images.

It was a delight to see little gekkos foraging for food at night during my trip to Asia. As a city gal, seeing nature in action is a rarity and always amazing to see–I was giggling like a schoolgirl. 🙂
