Created these special versions of the Bone Decor art for the Chillin Productions Art Show at 111 Minna Gallery (organized by Wonderland SF).
Mixed media: my illustrations, metallic findings, and coyote jawbone (painted silver). Since the item was to be displayed vertically, I glued the bones to the surface, then drilled holes into the board and it was sewn together with fishing line wire. A lot of behind-the-scene efforts, but well worth it.
“Nature Horror Skull” is a dark surrealist print I loved creating, as the theme is a little darker, inspired by old alchemy illustrations and mystical folklore. I transferred the piece to wood and painted the edges a bit, with an overlay of acrylic. This item is available at my ETSY shop
“Forgotten Innocence” is another wood art transfer print based on a mixed media creation I did a little while ago. The inspiration stems from Day of the Dead and old Renaissance paintings. The wood print is now on my ETSY SHOP
“Forgotten Innocence” is a mixed media illustration of delicate skeletal cherubs holding on to the beauty and dangerousness of nature. This was inspired by macabre Victorian creations, mythology and the stunning Renaissance paintings of Italian masters.
This fantasy anatomical heart is combined with a cactus rose plant, indicating the strength and vulnerability of love. This conceptual piece was originally created with pen/ink, textured papers and digital coloring. It’s available at my ETSY SHOP.
Here’s a detailed horse illustration created in a traditional vintage steampunk style with gears and a clock face in the background. The print is available HERE at my Etsy shop. The horse was created with pen/ink first, then scanned and transferred to Photoshop, cleaned up, and a few color tones and textures were added.
If you’re looking for something unique to add to your home, you could also check out the new pillow design I just created HERE, starting at an affordable $29.95.
Happy New Year! As 2014 is the zodiac year of the Horse, I’ve created a free steampunk style calender that you’re welcome to use for personal/non-commercial purposes–home, office, etc. You could download the calender HERE or by simply clicking on the image above.
Halloween is believed to be a day when the veil between the living and dead is lifted, where magical beings can wander the world in freedom. This mixed media illustration was inspired by the three witches of Macbeth and the magical oracles of ancient civilizations.
“Corset Backbone” is another gothic-surrealist piece inspired by the mystery of supernatural creatures and the fascinating practice of corset piercing. The original illustration was created with pen and ink, with an overlay of digital color.
