Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite cult films, and I wanted to create my own version of the power couple, Jack and Sally. I love the cartoon quality of Tim Burton’s aesthetics, but decided to go for a realistic route, with Sally as a sexy pinup, leading the charge with the loving Jack Skellington by her side.

The Aliens franchise has a new movie coming out on Friday and I wanted to take advantage of the fervor and inspiration to create a new piece. This tribal piece has a “throwback” nod to the classic 1980s movie posters with the incorporation of the vintage green glow, space pattern and digital rays. Below is the initial pen and ink drawing:

Donnie Darko is a fascinating cult film with intriguing characters and a unique tale of fantasy and horror. This is my rendition of “Frank the Bunny” with a quote from the movie “You are the Product of Fear”. Behind the rabbit, is scrawled the numbers “28064212”, an ominous number in the film that indicates “the day the earth will end”.

I’ve always been a fan of James Cameron’s Aliens film series and an even bigger fan of H.R. Giger. I grew up watching the series with my bro and it always held a nostalgic quality for me, so I created this Aliens Movie Tribute Art series with a touch of Celtic quality to them. Why Celtic? I love the interlocking qualities of the shapes and forms, which echoes the creature forms a bit and I also wanted to elevate the evolution of the aliens as a beautiful creation.
