I created this piece, available as an art print. However, for Wonderland SF Gallery’s last show, I wanted to do a one-of-a-kind art embellishment piece on giclee, incorporating the gorgeous Blue Swallowtail Butterfly and a miniature resin sculpture of a deer skull, painted with silver leaf and acrylics.

Silver Rhino Skull Beetle Vinyl Art
This is a mixed media piece was originally created with pen/ink on paper with digital coloring. It was then attached to card stock, sealed (6 layers), cut out and attached to the painted vinyl record. The rhino beetle (from sustainable insect farm in Asia) was painted, glued and sewn to the record. I then attached a few black rhinestones to the piece and applied resin to finalize it all. A lot of work, but very happy with how it turned out.
Seraphim Scorpion on Vinyl Record
This piece was also created with the same method as the Beetle Vinyl piece, with pen drawing, ornaments and resin. The Scorpion is a beautiful Blue Forest Scorpion specimen (also from a sustainable insect farm in Malaysia), painted silver, purple with little black glitter ornaments. The slight change in color makes the arachnid less menacing and approachable.

Created “Cult of the Sabertooth Kittens” for the Pawsomeness Cat Art Show at the Loin Gallery, San Francisco. The heads are inspired by prehistoric creatures and the bodies are based on sphinx cats. The inclusion of a robe and jewelry adds to the ritualism of the piece.

Pleased to participate in “The Good Death” art show at Sketchpad Gallery SF, starting tomorrow, April 19-22nd, curated by Abigail P. Rocha. Created these special versions of the Bone Decor art for the Chillin Productions Art Show at 111 Minna Gallery (organized by Wonderland SF).
Mixed media: my illustrations, metallic findings, and coyote jawbone (painted silver). Since the item was to be displayed vertically, I glued the bones to the surface, then drilled holes into the board and it was sewn together with fishing line wire. A lot of behind-the-scene efforts, but well worth it.
